The First Ugly

Sound: "Hook" movie beginning

[Just read the book Peter Pan again. Watching Hook and in the morning, getting Peter Pan- every version- from the library]

So, my morning began at 7AM, a time that is WAY TOO EARLY FOR ANYONE TO EVER EVEN BE ALIVE OKAY WAY TOO EARLY. I showered, did my hair, dressed up, and headed off to church. More people coming in and our little chapel was full! It was really neat, seeing so many people in a YSA ward like this.

I did fast, by the way, no worries! Fast and Testimony meeting was seriously incredible. To be honest, I was ready to doze through the whole thing, I was so tired. But we had person after person going up, we went over by about ten minutes because there were so many people. It was great.

Inspiration!
While sitting there, I was a little overcome. I was sitting with girls I couldn't remember the names of though we had a nice chat beforehand. But others had crossed the country with friends, come from other countries with their friends. Here I was, surrounded by strangers.

Sure, you can say every member is a friend but honestly, it takes a lot to be a true friend for me, and I don't really have many of those. I don't have someone I can call any time, guaranteed they will respond quickly and sympathize or tell me what I need to hear.

Until I realized that this last week, I'd done a lot of praying on the job for some help. To keep walking, to keep my head up, to smile, to laugh things off. I needed energy I couldn't drink and a hug no one was about to give me. So this Sunday, I realized more than ever Jesus Christ is my best friend, and He'll never leave me, and He'll always keep His word. It's something you don't really find often and I know that I probably wouldn't be here today if I didn't have the gospel.

Anyways, I headed home early because if I took the buses I would have been late to work. I was given a ride all the way back to Vista, where I changed, gathered my things, grabbed food [I was starving and needed something if I was going to work], and headed off to the bus.

It rained randomly tonight at work just before closing. A lot harder than it usually comes, strangely, but hey it was still pretty warm. I really liked it, except for what it's done to my hair [let's not dwell on that, though]

HOWEVER even better news that got me literally jumping up and down-
I have three days off next week INCLUDING MONDAY which is when there's a trip to Universal Studios!! I wasn't too sure about going. 80 dollars for both parks and the bus is good but I'd also add in money for souvineers. Okay, my MAIN issue was going alone. I'm sick of having adventures on my own. Even Peter Pan wasn't alone on his adventures, you know?

BUT Jonathon [one of the super nice and awesome guys hanging about at The Seas] came by whilst I was near the theatre and I was rambling on about my schedule and mentioned the park and I had the day off and he was like "Hey I have the day off too!" [Insert Pause] "hey you want to come- you want to come with me??!" And that's when I jumped up and down several times, nodding.
-Buying my ticket in the morninggggg. So at least something came out good today from working!

Final Decision: Working on Sunday was just uncomfortable. There were tons of people on the bus which is always a problem [hate standing on my feet and had to do it both ways meaning over an hour of standing round]. But I just missed the relaxation I feel, closer to the spirit.
It was a little tough to keep myself focused and I kept forgetting what the day was. I don't like it, but He knows I'm trying and that's the point, right?

Accents

Sound: 'Mission Impossible III' movie

Saturday night! Where am I?
If you know me, you don't have to ask!

Hey, I'm sitting in my pajamas, it's barely 10 pm. Obviously I am alone about to watch an action movie after eating some chocolate cereal.
Please don't laugh at meeee.

Anyways! I just realized it had been a week or so since I last updated so MY APOLOGIES! I had a three day weekend and should have updated then [or did I?] but I didn't. I was too busy running to the post office for my sister [and Jenee and Katie] and... well, then I went to the Magic Kingdom and bought some teaspoons.
What? They were cute- adorable.

Random Orlando Fact: their fire hydrants are painted silver. With green accents. Almost feels like I'm in Epcot's Future World. But it's toooootally awesome.

Totally, man, totally.

[TURTLE TALK WITH CRUSH. A twelve minute interactive show where you sit inside a theatre and can interact with Crush the Turtle from Pixar's film, Finding Nemo! = that place is so crazy and different every day, for sure. My first day alone after training, I worked the show six times! Six!! And the last two days, not at all!]

All right my social life is:
Increasing by 3%
Why? Well, in case you haven't noticed, I'm a hermit. Not good with people. Socially awkward. And here, a Christian conservative who, well, let's face it, is surrounded by liberals who ignore me. But hey, it's all cool. There are a few people who are pretty chill. Jonathon, for example, even moved across the bus so we could chat before work. Jaime is a sweet guy, as well, everyone loves him and he loves everyone. Mike is a friendly older man who always wants me to do his work [if I could, I would], and just a few others.
> However I did get reprimanded by today's coordinator about rotation which I had nothing to do with it and hopefully she's feeling better now because it was NOT MY FAULT.
I say only three because my roommates rarely talk to me. At all.

But hey! It's a fun place and I love seeing the kids around. Usually I can get them to wave to me and smile. Also, I finally got a pin lanyard so they voluntarily come up to me now! Shocker.

Up above is the.... um. Well. The center tree... at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Note: if you want to go to the park: grab a map. IMMEDIATELY. and keep it open.

Thank goodness I was alone, I guess? Although someone else would have laughed, at least they might not have been too lost. It took me a few minutes to shuffle through the jungle and get on to exploring!

The Everest ride really is awesome! But it's way too short. At least it's not too boring in line, though, once you get closer in the line, there's a small museum filled with artifacts about ventures and myths of the infamous yeti- very cool!

The bird show is cute, as well, and they have Africa and Asia there as well, with food and more things. I didn't go into Dinoland, however, because I was sick of "having fun" alone.

Revelation I received today: I spend money on fun things, because people never have the time to spend money on memories with me.

^NOT directed at anyone, I'm just saying. We all have our own lines and I have too much pride to even ask someone half the time.

If you have any questions about here or something, just ask and I'll provide the answers :D

So at the moment, I'm living off soup and cereal, looking to put in more hours at work [they barely gave me 30], seeing as I have nothing to do on my days off but do an hour or so of errands. Um... I don't know what else.

Yes, their are cute boys. Do I stand a chance? Not really.
And I'm probably not coming back with too much money- but at least it's a definite experience.

Coming up: Working my first Sunday tomorrow! Not too thrilled at all :( But I have just enough time in the morning to attend Sacrament Meeting, wooo.

Unanniversary!

Sound: The Notebook (playing on ABC)

Guess who's one of the trainees at The Seas With Nemo And Friends? ME!
Obviously, of course.

I don't have a complete picture of my uniform but here we go. My roommates actually don't think it's too bad but I try not to think about it too much. I've already been reprimanded for keeping my hands in my pockets [they're just so big and my hands get cold] and not having the top button buttoned [I'm claustrophobic].

Um, so I can't say too much, of course. But I'm already having issues because we get paid every Thursday and my roommates have gotten their paycheck and I haven't... It should get sorted out soon, though. At least I had the weekend off!

I meant to get this out last Wednesday because that was the anniversary of my real arrival! It already feels like I've been here forever, practically. But I was lazy.

BUT I DID MY FIRST TURTLE TALK. I was so nervous, you have no idea. I've gotten out of it twice but there's always that one time you get tricked into it, you know?

Still training with Joe. Our trainer, Ariel, said that we appear like brother and sister. He's such a kid making weird noises and claiming to be a player but he can't keep to his script, whereas I work hard and try to do everything right- which I do- and I just roll my eyes at his antics. I can't keep track of how many times I've done that, to be honest.

Friday I wandered around Epcot finally.

I wandered around Future World into Innovations [you can see how sturdy television screens are supposed to see and try and drop a heavy weight on a hard hat, etc.], then on Spaceship: Mars. That ride was GENIUS. I got pretty claustrophobic because it's a simulation with no space at all but wow it was incredible!

Then I headed to the International Realm um, place. I wandered from Europe to Morroco to Mexico in less than three hours, hitting about twelve or so countries. They all have at least a few [fake] buildings to celebrate their culture, along with a restaurant and a gift shop or two. Plus they bring out characters from those countries [Belle from France, Pooh Bear from America, etc], AND everyone working in those countries has literally come from that country and speak the native language and everything. It's so incredible!

Norway even has a ride. France has a patisserie that had a LONG line going out. I'll have to go some time! They have fireworks about nine but I didn't stay for that. Hanging alone is something I'm used to but it eventually gets tiring.

^Plus I'd just worked from about 7am to 4 in the afternoon. So I walked around the place, mocked my sister [Hi, Nessa!], for about four hours and headed out.

Last things: I went to Hollywood Studios- they put on a live 30mn show of Indiana Jones AND Beauty and The Beast. I saw a partial film/show of The Little Mermaid but I was there late so I didn't get to see the first few. YET anyways!! But it's such a fun place, mostly shops but still cool.
There and both in the International area they do live music- BRITISH ROCK BANDS ARE BEAUTIFUL- and they have a stage at the big hat in HS which is awesome.

Then work:
-I met Jaime, a BYU student and I feel not too alone in preferring clean language at The Seas
-TUESDAY is my final test to see if I can do everything at The Seas. This includes being followed around to prove I can perform every position [there's at least twelve of them], and taking a few tests. Wish me luck! I'm so nervous. I'm not good at testing at all.

Anything else? I don't think so. After my testing [about four hours], I have the day off in the afternoon and I'm going to check out Disney's Animal Kingdom!

And we have a little library here on the grounds and they actually had MY FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME. Does anyone know what it is? GUESS!

We've had lovely weather, by the way. Nice seventies, a few breezes.

Discovery Channel

Sound: "Messy Mondays" on youtube.com by blimeycow

Saturday Update: Chillaxin! I had no work, nothing. I wanted to go to the parks but at the same time, I didn't want to go alone. I was extremely lazy, unfortunately. I got a few extra kitchen utensils and I got a book or two from the Vista library [they don't have my favorites but its still decent!], and hung around. My roommates later got home and I joined Shelby and Mandy into the Magic Kingdom around 7-8, joining three french boys [we could barely understand them, but we are neighbors here!], for a few rides before closing.

Sunday Update: I made it to my new ward! Our Sunday School time was setting up all of the newbies in the ward, including me, to get our documents in and all. I met John who was going to help with some papers for us to get Sundays off, and apparently he works with the Nemo ride there. Also made a friend or two on the bus ride home- there's quite a few BYU-I students here I didn't know about, all living together in Chattham! They've promised to call me if they do anything as a group, because all the swearing in my house can be a bother.

Monday-

DISCOVERY DAAAAYYYY

I took an early bus with a few other students to Epcot, and we arrived at seven in the morning. Chilly and tired, we hung around and talked to each other until everyone began to form together. We clocked in, WOOO, and headed into a room to start the introduction!

After that, we headed into the actual park, Epcot, for a look around. We met Lennard [I don't think that's his name, I'm so sorry!], a really cool guy on a segway who gives tours and kept popping up to "raise the roof" at us whenever he saw us. We split our group in half to keep it smaller, and went through Innovations, both East and West, which is incredible.

We rode... shoot. Spaceman something. Nice and slow that talks about the history of man's inventions and the like. From cavemen with fire, to talking to computers onto the moon, amazing! After that, we wandered around.

Cool Fact #1: 'Club Cool' is hosted by Coca-Cola. For free, you can wander around in the store with a mini cup and try different sodas from all around the world.
Guess who's going to chill there on her free day? ;)

Cool Fact #2: When the park opened, they had about 7 International Houses and Walt Disney wanted to represent all of the world. So the fountain you can see there- they had 22 representatives on opening day bring in water from their own country to really come together. Amazing!

We also saw Graffiki there! Pretty fun :D

After that, we returned to our building to talk about cultures which was so much fun. I can't wait for extra time to go around to the different places and see Norway and China a little bit, you know? It's going to be fun!

Then! After that, we got our assignments! Well, at least half of it! I'll be working at the Nemo ride AND Turtle Talk with Crush! [Remember I mentioned John from church? He'll be one of my trainers, I think] I have my work schedule for the week- 9 hours every day until the weekend which I have off. Yay! This is going to be tough but I'll give it my best! I'm going there in about an hour, where I'll get my costume and then head off. I also met Joe, who'll be working with me!

After that, I rushed home to get groceries, spent about 50 dollars at Wal-Mart. I bought boys' black socks and black velcro shoes [cheapest things possible, still amounting to about $20]

I was going to hit the parks and stuff early then make it to FHE, but I ended up waiting two hours for my roommates and we all had to take showers and by then, I couldn't make it to FHE and they convinced me to end the evening at the park.

Like I could pass that up?

^Marie and Victoria in the evening :D

We chilled in Main Street especially during the parade which was awesome! Then we got dinner. Marie got a taco salad hot dog. Victoria got a philly cheese steak hot dog.

I bought a sweet cream cheese pretzel. IT WAS AMAZING. Sounds weird, right? And it just looks like a basic pretzel with cinnamon sprinkled on top. But it's so much more than that, I can assure you. It's SO GOOD. Incredible. Life changing.

Then we took to a few rides! The People Mover, It's A Small World, The Haunted Mansion [we walked through their little graveyard, and all three of us squished into one seat which was like being in a can of sardines, we laughed about it later. But this was so cool. I prefer the Small World back home but the Haunted Mansion is SO GOOD. Ugh amazing.

We watched a few minutes of the fireworks and kept wandering around through a few shops. They had too many cute things, I had to suppress my urges so much, seriously.

Fun stuff :) Then we caught up to Space Mountain [the fast pass is so perfect there, you have no idea] which isn't smooth like it is at Disneyland, but that's seriously okay. My glasses nearly flew off so many times. SO FUN! After that, they got some ice cream, and we headed back.

My feet were killing me, which sucks. BUT THAT'S OKAY!

Anyways, in all, it was a good weekend. Too easy, really. So now it's my first week of real training and let's see how that goes! :D

A Whole New World

Song:'Mary Jane's Last Dance' by Tom Petty

Mood: Why is my headache so tiny and yet so painful?

I DID IT! I flew across the States all by myself [to my layover in a squished plane ride I saw this CUTE guy getting ready to backpack through Australia and Peru. He helped me put my backpack up and he was reading 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' which is one of the craziest coolest stories EVER.], hopped on a bus to watch a Eastern sunrise and by eight in the morning [east coast time], I was at Vista Way Apartments, in line.

To be honest the whole set up here to get signed in, is between being in lines for rides at any Disney Resort Parks and a tax line. There are lots of papers shuffled around but everyone is so friendly and helpful!

We went to Casting where I found I will be working at the.... flip. South or East Attractions at Epcot Park [meaning, I believe, Finding Nemo or a Space ride], yay! But seriously, we were going through lines to be fingerprinted, get property I.D.'s, go to a "Welcome Introduction" and all.

Oh, I have to mention this: I found my apartment [three bedroom, two bathroom place with Cable and wi-fi but nothing to really cook with]. It was across the park from the Pavilion where we had our luggage stashed. Do you see the beginning of my problem? If you know me, the problem is multiplied. There are so many different paths- I had to make THREE trips and EVERY way turned out DIFFERENT. I do not lie.

But hey, it's an adventure!

I have pretty cool roommates [when they cut down the swearing and hopes to party], and our main problem is getting enough things for our kitchen [I just bought a muffin pan and tomorrow I'm picking up a cookie sheet. Another girl just got us a microwave oven.], and finding how messy our apartment was beforehand [dirt in the showers, ew!]

Anyways!!!

Yesterday I had the day off from everything, thank goodness, because the day before I didn't get a meal until ten in the evening- beforehand I lived off six mini cookies and half a waterbottle!- but my roommate, Marie, made me delicious food. Reinforces my belief that most people outside of America cook the best.

SHOPPING. Gotta love Wal-Mart. AND they have a dollar tree just down the road! Marie and I walked on over and they have a FREEZER section! My life was made. Orange chicken and ice cream, booyah! Then we just chilled out, watched a movie, and she blowdried my hair [because we all know if my hair doesn't look fine after five minutes, I will give up]

Sorry, I'm getting distracted.

TODAY! Was our "Traditions" class where things started to click. FIRST OFF, I got my badge! That and I got my technical pass that lets me into all Disney Resort Parks FREE. Jealous? I thought so. [And for the next two weeks, I have 40% off of all things, then it goes down to 20. I'm already planning on a little splurging, I'm afraid! haha :D]

^My badge!!!!

After some rules and regulations and a game or two, we headed out in our groups out into the Magic Kingdom and you know it- we went underground! Pictures not allowed, of course, but it's not that flashy, just really cool. We ran into Cinderella on our way! Then we came out the back doors and right before we were heading out, our leader, Gio, asked if anyone hadn't been there before....

SO yeah, I've had Disneyland but not here so I had to raise my hand and so she pulled me up to the front and I was the first one to walk into Main Street! It was embarrassing, to be honest [girls behind me were "awww"ing] and while it held a lot of similiarties of Disneyland, it was still different and so awesome!

(^At the park we had radios with ear pieces and I felt so pro!)

We didn't go far, unfortunately, just a few minutes through to talk about Safety, Courtesy, Show and Effeciency.

It was great and Mickey Mouse brought us our pins in the end!

Except for the blisters. Ouch :/

My conclusion of our day was riding the bus around town for an hour, talking to others getting off their shifts. Turns out, the park had closed at nine! Silly, right? But tomorrow it's open later and we're going out, my roommates and I.

Shall keep you updated with my adventures! :D

Long Time, No Chat

It's been a few weeks. Okay, probably a month, at the least. If not more. But what can I say? Lift just got in the way.

As did Bones as the show started up again. In addition, I try to stay updated on: Psych, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, and I've also recently begun The Mentalist and Community.

Oh and I can't stop watching pieces of this beautiful show on youtube.

So, obviously, I'm pretty preoccupied.

Okay, okay. But I do have some legit reasoning. Working a few odd jobs in Cedar, sorting out my future- every few weeks I get a new email about my future work at Disney World in Orlando, FL where I will be next January. Then I had a ridiculous three page paper to write.

And Nano!
Which is what we insiders call it. To the rest of you, it's National Novel Writing Month. There's more to November than Thanksgiving, Christmas music, and No-Shave-November. This project is for writers all around the world who choose to start a novel and write 50k [that's five thousand] words within those 30 days.

My only problem is that as incredible as my story will be- outlined with 22k so far- I just keep getting immensely distracted with... well, more stories. I had started one earlier this year which I finished just today- 72k! Plus just last week I started something else and I've already written about 15k and I really don't want to quit on that because it's just so much fun, you know?

But I'm going to still and do what I can. The story I'm doing for this is one I've been working on for about three years and it means a lot to me. I've put in so many hours of work for it and it's just special.

Among other things, I'm trying to relearn patience around those closest to me. I've gotten better at expressing myself instead of hiding things away like I have done most of my life [I didn't think people would really care or want to listen]; but as I've grown more blunt, I've lost patience and some empathy which I've always understood completely.
It's a tough life, really.

Anyways, I'm eating out every day and watching at least two-three movies a day as well doing hardly anything but sitting on my bum constantly here at my grandparents for Thanksgiving. They've splurged so much on me, i love it but it almost makes me sick.

Sort of excited to go home. My... excitement has been draining lately. All day, really. Or yesterday? No, today. But hey, I need to learn patience, right?

Hopefully I'll pick this up and pretend people don't even know what's going on in my life right now or something like that.
Fare thee well!

Silly Suits

Song: "Happy Endings Are Stories That Haven't Ended Yet" by Mayday Parade

Feeling: The awkward moment when you're very curious to know who you've pissed off in the past, and why.

I'm not kidding. James came over today to keep to his promise about my guitar springs. Last month he got out my acoustic guitar to play and broke a string and he promised to fix them. Last night Tuesday was in town and he stopped over and I was just annoyed at a lot of people and so we sorted that out wonderfully.

Anyways, he was fixing my strings and we started talking about people pissing us off sort of, and I asked him if I'd ever done that to him. He said no but I have done it to people before.

So, you know, obviously I'm painfully curious now. It's more interesting than finding out who likes me [although I don't think anyone does...?], although he won't say.

Now growing up, I tried to make things easier for others. I tried not to argue but let people step over me for what they wanted. I kept a lot of my opinions and questions to myself, just so I wouldn't bother people. In fact, I could completely override my own emotions just for others.

-Then I realized that was wrong, your feelings always matter no wonder the case, and I guess I flipped all the way around, to sort of not caring.

I'm a bit more blunt now. You can't read my expression half the time so I look upset, sad, or angry [apparently, I wouldn't know] and my humor's just gotten a bit more dry. Oh, and I'm a little more blunt about the company I don't like.

Clues for unlikable company:
Not meeting the eye
Being distracted by everything else
Conversation continues to fall flat
No smiling

Please, I hope people start to understand clues like this. I'm pretty pro at being obvious about it lately, I believe- although I'm afraid there are some very [painfully] socially awkward people about. It's just not healthy nor right, really. At one point it just crosses the point from entertaining to just...horrible.

For our sakes:
Pay attention to the direction of the currently flowing conversation
We know you want attention, but people were talking, want to talk, so take turns
Dress well [if you're not five, then wear matching articles of clothing]
Before you say anything, repeat it to yourself
Be considerate
Too friendly is too creepy

And that's just a starter. Okay, so some say fashion doesn't have to do with who you are- but who are they kidding? In this society, we make snap judgments and label people within the first few seconds of meeting- not minutes, but seconds. I, personally, feel I'm pretty good at figuring people out and I'm rarely, if ever, wrong.
Okay, so I was wrong, once. But only slightly.

The way you dress describes who you are. Wearing Juicy is like wearing fake prada- it's a brand but it's not that quality so you look like you're trying to climb up the chain. With something like Prada or Vuiton [???who cares??], you look a bit like a snob. If your clothes don't match, you probably look five and thus socially incapable of anything. If you're dressed super down without hair done, you look tired, hectic, and somewhat poor. If you wear a constantly visible belt buckle and cowboy boots, you're most likely a [wanna be] hick.

Yes, I'm talking to you, Utah.

Now, this mostly amuses me, actually. My roommates come from Wyoming, Utah and Texas where we all believe the cowboys, real or not, began. They all like cowboys. And I don't. Which I sort of pride myself on now, although I'd probably take a liking to any man from a Louis L'Amour book, to be honest.
But really, now. Hunting, riding horses... they're all the same. It's a little disturbing, and I don't find it attractive, to be quite frank.

Of course, I don't necessarily find a man in a business suit and buzz cut attractive. The latter never is, in my view. Nor are sweats attractive [that goes for girls also] Well, I'm not necessarily attracted to any man in a suit- unless it's Ryan Gosling in 'Crazy Stupid Love.' And a man in a loose tie and rolled up sleeves could pull off with a skinny tie.

Then again, I always was picky. What can I say? I have high standards. I don't want to hang around just anyone. After all, you do come to be a lot like those that surround you. So, I try to be surrounded around more of... quality, I suppose you could say?
Hey, no one's perfect...

This was an interesting post. I'll probably come back to it someday and laugh. I blame this strangeness on Psych, which I watch daily. A few episodes a day, to be honest. A little unhealthy I guess, we'll see.

However I'm finally working on a proper outline of my novel. I wanted this done by the end of November, although I doubt that will happen. Though I do hope to get a bit farther- I don't want this to take years in the making. I've already spent three years on it, and I don't want much more because it deserves to truly progress and finish becoming.

Enough ranting.

Other news: I'm finally beginning to understand my Physics class, thank goodness. And I'm selling a few items over the web to make some money and it's slowly working.

BIG NEWS: Next semester I'm moving to Orlando, Florida! Not going to school, exactly= the Disney [World] College Program. January 11- May 11 2012, I will be working on the Attractions- not sure which one[s] yet!- at the park. I'll have an ID there so I can get in when I want. I'll have housing nearby with a bus that will take me to work for free everyday and to the grocery store down the street. I'll also be taking a course, most likely about the innovation of business, and it may be taught by high business executives and the like. I can't wait :)

So no, it's not school. And I won't come back with much money [hello, disney world, and trips to universal studios!!!], but I believe it's important for me to properly "fly the coop." Not like a criminal, but to finally go alone into the world and learn that way. Everything I've ever done was with either of my sisters or a friend, and doing this, I won't personally know anyone at first in the program.
Very terrifying. But I've fasted and I've prayed to Heavenly Father, and we've both decided together that it's something I need to do!

Feel free to visit me. I can get discounts, if you ever want to go to a park or something. Or just visit me. Please. Haha

Have a swell day, my sweets.
